If you’re a Minneapolis housing provider whose tenants are struggling to pay rent as a result of Operation Metro Surge, the city has expanded rental assistance to help.
The city has $2 million in its own funds, and an additional $1 million in the form of a private donation from the Wilson Foundation available in emergency rental assistance. Hennepin County will distribute the funds on behalf of the city, as it has existing infrastructure to streamline the process.
The help is intended to quickly help tenants experiencing financial hardship and help prevent evictions.
