On June 27, Minneapolis duplex shopping is coming to a neighborhood near you.
That’s because the folks who govern the local MLS have decided search districts like Nokomis, Southwest and Mac-Groveland are too confusing and broad.
In an effort to help Minneapolis duplex buyers target a more specific geographic area, the MLS is about to start implementing an additional search category that will break inventory down by neighborhood.
So, if you’re looking for a duplex in Linden Hills, you’ll be able to limit your search results to that neighborhood.
Some of these areas are already well known to most of us; places like King Field, Tangletown and Highland. However, it’s likely to take some practice to differentiate between the Ecco from Carag, or the Minneapolis Como neighborhood from the one in St Paul.
As the MLS feeds web sites like Realtor.com and Zillow, expect to see those services featuring neighborhoods too.
If you’d like a copy of the map, email me. I’d be happy to send it to you.
This rollout is slated for the next couple of weeks in order to give us all time to figure out where we’re going before the June 27 transition.
